Fat Trunk Records is the brain child of baltimore native Mike Hershey, who after 24 years of
working in the music buisness for such acts as Goverment Mule Glove, G Love and the
Special Sauce, The Allman bros.,The All Fellas Band , Foam, Jason Teach and Cesar
Diaz, wanted to start this label to seek out artists who dont fit into the industry standard.
He wanted to give them a fair shot at recording the music they love dedicated to Jah
and rastafari. All our artists are seen as partners not product. Yet much is demanded
from them such as creativity, talent, and dedication. To honesty, loyalty, and there craft
they are given 50% of all profit made providing recording budgets, merchandising,
and networking, as well as top industy producers such as Chris Debenedetto,
Dave Taylor, and John Travis as well as Mike himself. All tools are there for artists to
get the most out of there craft. All demos are personally heard by Mike himself, then a
final decision is made by the entire Fat Trunk family. Though this is a tough process
for the artist, in the end it assures the label stays true to the medium we all know as music!
